Day 2 : Travel to Cangas de Onis, Asturias, Spain
Cangas de Onis
Picos de Europa National Park
Asturias
Spain
Trip date: 2020-July-21
Today we would move to the city Cangas de Onis in Asturias and stayed 4 nights there.
On the way to Cangas de Onis from Riaño, the landscape was incredible beautiful. We stopped for many times just for enjoying the fantastic view.
We stopped in a tourist office of Picos of Europe. We bought one bottle of Sidra and Sobao in one small shop.
Since there were no restaurants on the way, we ate the home-made bread we just bought in a small bakery in the region and with hams and cheeses we brought.
We found Estacion de desovede Salmones (La Salmonera de Caño) by accident in Caño. Such a beautiful place.
Finally, we arrived at our destination. Cangas de Onis is a bigger town than others in Asturias which has a lot of restaurantes, bars, shops and also supermarkets. It is a good hopping town for heading to the Picos de Europa National Park (Paque national de Picos de Europa).
Must see:
Roman bridge
It is a very popular attraction. Some people were swimming in the river under the bridge.
We had the dinner in´El Abuelo´. We ordered ´Cachopo´ which is a typical dish characteristic of Asturian cuisine. It consists of two large fillets and includes ham and cheese, also one sidra.
It was interesting that the restaurant used a grandfather shape machine for pouring Austurian Sidra from a higher place to the glass.
Hotel:
Hotel Ciudad Cangas de Onis 4 stars
The room was fine and big. The only problem was that our room faced the street and it was noisy.
Parking around the hotel:
Difficult
